Luminate London is a high-level forum created by global technology investor Prosus, bringing together leaders from across tech, policy and finance to explore the future of innovation.

As part of an ongoing global series spanning India, Europe and South America, the London edition needed to establish a clear identity for the platform, one that could operate at a senior, intellectually credible level while still feeling distinct and contemporary.

This was about creating the right environment for meaningful exchange.

The idea

The creative approach build from the core brand positioning, flexing to a singular identity:

Light out of darkness”.

A visual and conceptual framework that reflected both the challenges and opportunities within the European innovation landscape.

The intention was to create a space that felt hopeful, focused and innovative, while carrying a sense of energy and forward momentum.

The Experience

Set within the historic surroundings of Raffles London at The OWO, the experience played with contrast, pairing the weight and heritage of the venue with a more contemporary, dynamic visual layer.

Large-scale projection mapping was used to transform the space throughout the day, introducing movement, rhythm and visual depth without overwhelming the content or the conversations taking place. The work featured commissioned pieces from emerging European digital artists, bringing a fresh, culturally relevant edge to the environment.

The spatial design prioritised intimacy and connection. A horseshoe seating layout, combined with softer furniture and varied stage scales, created a more relaxed, conversational atmosphere, encouraging dialogue rather than passive listening.

The experience extended into a more private, high-touch setting, with a white-glove dinner at Kensington Palace, designed to foster deeper relationships between a carefully curated group of attendees.

My role

As Creative Director, I led the overall creative direction across brand, spatial design, content and experience.

This included:

  • shaping the Luminate platform identity

  • defining the visual and conceptual direction of the event

  • commissioning external creative talent

  • guiding spatial and experiential design decisions

  • developing the content capture strategy

This is an ongoing relationship, with further work underway to evolve and scale the Luminate brand across future global editions.

Branding & Content

Beyond the physical experience, the project focused heavily on building a coherent and scalable identity for Luminate as a platform.

I led the development of the brand expression, working closely with an art director to define a visual language built around light, reflection and iridescence, extending into materials, finishes and bespoke furniture to give the forum a distinct and ownable presence.

The event was captured through a five-camera content set-up, with edited outputs delivered within 24 hours to support Prosus’ ongoing communications. I also developed the content and photography brief to ensure consistency across tone, framing and storytelling.

Outcome

Luminate London successfully established a clear and distinctive identity for the platform, creating an environment that felt both credible at a senior level and visually contemporary.

More importantly, it created the conditions for the kind of conversations the forum was designed to host, positioning Prosus not just as a participant in the innovation landscape, but as a convener of it.
